I'm Not a Good Blogger

Okay, I'll be the first to admit.... It's been 2 years since my last post (almost). Kindergarten got in the way. Anyway, I'm back on track and will be posting at LEAST twice a month. So follow along with the story of our lives with Addie Lu and watch all the fun we have!

Here's a cute picture of all the cousins on my side of the family. We took this picture for my parents' Christmas card. From left to right: Sawyer Greene (19 months old), Jenna Johnson (26 months old), Emme Greene (3 years old), and Addie Lu Nails (4 years old). I can't believe we were able to get a picture this good!!

Homecoming 2008

We decided we would make the Homecoming Parade. We left Decatur at 7 am and made it to Tuscaloosa around 9. Addie decided she needed to sit on Jeremy's shoulders in order to see all of the parade.
Here we are in front of the Alpha Chi Omega house. I thought the lawn decorations were great - especially the cameo of Bear Bryant.

We climbed all the way up the ramp to our seats - Addie didn't even complain once!

This picture is so cute! Addie loved being up high and being able to see all of the game!

Addie and Jeremy having lots of fun during the game! We made it through the end of the third quarter - pretty good for a 4 year old!

Gotcha Day!

Wow, 2 years ago today we officially met Addie Lu for the first time! I thought it would be cute to post her referral pictures. I'm not quite sure how old she is here, but am guessing probably a year and a half. We adopted her at 26 months, so I don't think it would be any later than that!

A Quick Trip to the Grand Hotel

We made a quick trip down to the Grand Hotel for a CE course. This is one of my favorite places in the world. Fairhope is such a neat little town with all kinds of shopping and great places to eat. Because the grounds are so beautiful at the Grand, I decided to take a few pictures of Addie there. In the above picture, she is actually wearing the "dress" I wore to have my portrait painted. As you can see what was a dress on me is actually a top on her. Even though I was about 4 at the time, she is much taller than I was. I have decided to have her portrait done as well from this picture. What do you think?
The Grand Hotel has a neat little beach area which Addie enjoyed while my friend Amy and I were at our CE class. Thankfully Mom came along to watch Addie Lu while we were gone!

Here she is at the pool. The pool is great here and has a fun waterslide, which Mom said they went down many times!

When we go to the Grand, I always book a room in the spa building. I just think the rooms are a little nicer, and they have these great balconies with rocking chairs. We spent a lot of time out on our balcony just watching people walk by and drinking coffee (well, Mom and Amy, I'm not a big coffee drinker).
Below is a picture of our room. It has some of the most comfy beds that I've ever slept in! The Grand Hotel was actually bought by Marriott a few years ago, so you get those special beds here.

Concert at Decatur Heritage

Sorry about the picture quality. Not sure what happened here (I didn't take them). Anyway, Addie Lu had a concert at Decatur Heritage where the 4 and 5 K class sang. She loves to sing!
I think they must be doing the old standard "Deep and Wide".
Here's a full shot of the kids. Addie loves her class so much!

S'mores

We had a cookout last night for our Monday Night Football friends and decided to try out the little outdoor fire pit for s'mores.
Addie and Vivi loved them!
We needed a little adult supervision! Hmm, is that marshmallow burned enough to our liking?
Mary Catherine and her fiery marshmallow!
